James M. Jochum, MD, is a 1985-graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. His postgraduate training includes his internship at the Naval Hospital/ Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL (1985-1986), as well as his training as Senior Flight Surgeon/Genera Practice Physician at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Mayport, FL (1987-1989). Dr. Jochum completed his ophthalmology residency at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland (1989-1992). Prior to medical school, he acquired his BS degree in chemistry and engineering from the University of Maryland in College Park, MD (1978). He attained board certification in ophthalmology with the American Board of Ophthalmology. Furthermore, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Society of Military Ophthalmologists, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, Volusia County Medical Society, and the Society of U.S. Naval Flight Surgeons.
